I made a bootable windows xp cd rom with sp2 slipstreamed into the installation.
Its booting.. off CD.. hurray! oops.. what the heck.. I get the strangest error:
Please insert the disk labeled Windows XP Professional CD-ROM into Drive A:
This message looks so silly that someone even posted a picture on the net joking about it:

But seriously.. how do i properly create a slipstreamed sp2 bootable install cd.. I followed many forums, and this is what the CD does.. (no i wont try to squeeze the cd into the A Drive)
thanks.

this is the best thing to go by that I know of:

Hi shogo,
I like the way you put it.
But seriuosly ... sounds like a Joe Walsh song.
But seriously, A boot CD will often 'become' A:
And if CDROM support loads, the CD will also be seen as, let's say, R:
So it's sorta, kinda in two places at once.
But without getting buried in all that, the 'solution' may be to label the CD with the label that the install wants to see.

Did you change the first boot device from a drive to cd rom in the bios?
A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on..

Make sure you included these files on the cd.
WIN51
WIN51IP
WIN51IP.SP1
WIN51IP.SP2Without them you get the error you are getting now.
Hope this helps,
Sandman
