Hi, I have just imaged my Hard disk as my Hard disk was crashing and freezing up. Now I cannot load WIndows as just after I get the login screen a message pops up " Windows Product Activation - A problem is preventing windows from accurately checking the license for this computer Error Code: 0x80004005 " I tried removing the WPA.DBL file from c:\windows\system32 and let it recreate but the same thing happens. I can load Windows completely in Safe Mode. I also tried the tip of using regsvr32 on 2 files which completed succesfully however the same message reappears. Any other suggestions ???? Should I try reinstalling Windows over the top of itself maybe ????

MS suggests that you do a ntbackup and install and then restore with system state. That is supposed to save activation unless the number of hardware changes exceed the magic number. Your image was an exact copy of the original drive. If you used ghost 9 or 10 then you could convert it with vmware tools and run it in a vmplayer. It will complain too as the hardware has changed. Make a ntbackup with system state and then apply that ntbackup to your system. It should allow you to get on long enough to re-activate.
You could just do a clean install if you have all the applications too and then get the data out of the image.
What did you use to copy it? Linux DD or some actual image software?
