Ever since I first put WinXP Pro on my PC I've had various problems when deleting files...
...Sometimes when trying to delete folders or individual files or even groups of files, I'm warned by Windows that the files are already in use, and I am then unable to delete them until I've restarted the PC.

Never seen your problem before but I dont know whether it helps but I have had a similar problem many times when starting an Office program. It would tell me that this document is being used by another user and would I like to make a copy. Reinstalling Office solved the problem but I dont know why!
Only other thing would be to check task manager and see if they are actually open for some reason, and then end the tasks.
