Had problems with old hard drive - clicking intermittently. Replaced hard drive and have tried to load XP Pro. The hard drive is identical (250 SATA) to the old one. What I have done is booted with XP disk in and hit F8 to select boot device, then pushed F6 to install drivers and that is when the problems start. I do not have the original drivers cd and am using a backup. It is asking for txtsetup.exe which I thought I had copied to a floppy but I have tried 2 different ones found and each time XP is saying it cannot find the specified file.
The post screen shows the hard drive, the board is an ASUS 8V deluxe with RAID although I only have one drive.
I have tried installing XP and not hitting F6 and it halts installation and it stops and says it is unable to continue as it did not find any hard drives installed on computer.
Any Advice

Hi,
Check your jumper settings on the new drive *s* ( primary VS slave)
Thats probably what it is.If your computer has an old bios../old computer... you may need to go into bios setup and set the drive up manually. Find the specs on the drive, sometimes its right on the drive. It will list cylinder numbers etc to punch into the bios set up.
Other than that.. grab the instal utility for the drive in question. While your in the bios set up make sure it is booting to CD first, if thats the way you want to install XP.
A computer is a perfectionist's nightmare.
