XP pro install disc not reading

I have a copy of windows XP pro. I used a hiren CD to format my computer, as I was unable to boot it. I deleted all the partitions and remade it as "C:", rebooted, stuck in the install disc, hit f12 and selected "boot from IDE CD-ROM device". Then I get "strike f1 to continue, strike f2 to go to system setup", if I hit f1 it doesn't respond (waited 45 min to an hour), and f2 takes me to the bios-configuration thing.
I'm stuck on what to do, the XP pro CD should be working fine.

Did the copy ever work?
Try it again using original (not copy) XP pro installation CD.

You have not answered my question. Read my earlier response. Try again with the original CD (not copy).

It sounds like you are using a 'Dell' restore CD. If you deleted all the partitions, then you removed the Dell restore partition which holds the restore image. I think you will have to go to dell for some help.

nah, im using a burned ISO of windows XP pro with a legal serial key someone gave to me. Did not have the original XP pro disc, so I don't either.
The problem is when I try to boot it NOW I don't get the "NTDSR" error, it just gives me a black screen with the white cursor blinking. The disc is fine though, it will run on this comp.

I gather the "legal serial key" you speak of is a Volume License Key (VLK). Not only that it's illegal for you to use, your copy of XP is destined to fail the mandatory WGA validation check once the installation is completed. In that case we can't help you further. Sorry.
