well, my computer locks up aftere about an hour and a half of use.... this was happeneing before too but more frequent, usually about every twenty minutes. I couldnt find a problem so just to be safe i wiped my hard drive and did a fresh install of windows. well, now it freezes every hour and a half. I tried on this start up to switch out the power and ide cables on my hard drive just to make sure it wasnt them. ill see if that works but i wanted to see if any of you guys have had this problem before. This is the best tech support forum I've been on for my problems, i really appreciate it. THANKS!

Are you able to try a different power supply from a friends machine?
Also, could you be having a problem with a build up of heat inside your case.

How old is the PC? If you've had it for a little while, you might wanna check out the CMOS battery on your motherboard. It looks like a big watch battery.

my computer is about a year and a half old, i built it last summer. Its just so weird that its doing this.... cant figure out why it would, i have panda anitivirus and it detects nothing. Also ive realized that its only during a windows process that it feezes. I can play counter-strike for 2-3 hours and half nop porblems but when i leave it idle or use smaller programs like ventrilo or aim it freezes after a while. I just am really weirded out by this.
