My XP Pro frequently freezes.(more than once per day) generally during scrolling of a window, or back command on IE6,
It seems to occur in any program, even when only windows explorer is running.
This is new fresh install on a new pc, 2GHz p4 with 1GB of ddr ram.I have tried replacing the raid 1 setup with a single ide drive, and tried changing video card, (currently nvidia Geforce 2 32MB, previously Matrox G550).
Just installed SP1 and still no joy.
Has anyone got ideas for what else I could try. I'm considering going to win2000

Have you checked EVENT VIEWER if any thing related to a program at the exact TIME of freezing is logged there?
One program on your PC can cause that behavior.
Got to think driver issue, in light of your
good specs for XP.

I had the same problem which I fixed by updating (flashing) the bios chip on the motherboard and updating the Via 4in1 drivers.
I am using an Asus A7V socket A board
Good luck
