my background is plain white, it did have information previously about a trojan virus on my computer- it was a blue background with white writing.Trojan
Spy.HTML.smitfraud.c I think i have got rid of it as from since then i have done a spyware scan, however i am also not sure if a spyware scan will get rid of it.
Now the information ont he backgound has gone but i am now left with a blank white background, i cannot attempt to change the background as from the display tabs are not working. How can i get my background working again?

"A fatal error in IE has occured at 0028:C0011E36 in VXD VMM<01> + 00010E36 error was caused by Trojan-Spy.HTML.Smitfraud.c

*System can not function in normal mode.
Please check your security settings.

*Scan your pc with any availible antivurs/spyware remover program to fix the problem"

^^^^That's what it did say on the backgroud but now that message has gone, how can i get a normal background up again?^^^^

i would appreciate the help :-) katie :-)

try a system restore back to when it worked fine. If that doesn't work, make sure to undo that restoration. Good Luck

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Right click on a bare spot on your desktop and select Properties.
Go to Desktop tab, Customize Desktop button (near the bottom), Web tab and delete everything except "My current home page" and leave that unticked.
