I looked to see if nero incd worked in xp pro on the microsoft site it said yes, I looked on the nero site it said yes, so I installed it. The nero cd came with my xp pro system but as not installed only nero burning rom was installed.

Big mistake!

After install it said windows needed to re start, click on restart now, when it restarted windows was locked in a loop !!! windows would start then it would say, windows was not shut down properly, and scan disk would start, scan disk said all the windows start up files were not right and truncated them all!!!! then windows would try to start again.

windows was locked in a boot up , run scandisk, boot up , run scandisk, over and over in a loop!

I did a boot to safe mode and tried to uninstall incd it was listed but said when you tried to uninstall ,it was not installed.

I had to boot with F8 key and then then at the start up screen, it said what operationg system to start? but gave no choices then i pressed F8 and was given a screen with restore to perveous working set up? I picked that choice and windows restarted and ran and worked as before the incd install.

what the *****?

I had incd on my PC and removed it it is useless the native roxio is better and it works right along with burning rom 5.599. I do not have SP1 installed though .Seems there are a lot of problems with it.

Hi,

I got into a similar nightmare when I tried to installed Ez Cd creator on XP, that handled me!

I discoved then that XP has it own native CDRW software as pointed out above, and all you got to do is drag and drop things you want to burn, and then, you click on the CDRW icon on the left Explorer window, then it shows what's ready to burn, then I woould right click on that sentences, from the menu, I choose "burn the files.." (something like that, mine is in French) and it never missed, never scrap one CD yet with that.

If you still want a Burning software, I found that "CD Mate" works beautifully with XP.

I can only burn cds with xp built in cd burning software, I can't burn cdrws with windows built in burner. Its odd that windows didn't include cdrw burning with its operating system. You have to use nero or some other soft ware to burn cdrws.
