Specs: Windows XP
Hi ,
I have a laptop running vista and decided i wanted to put xp on it instead. So i put in the setup disc went through all the normal stuff but when it got to installing all the files some could not be installed (at least 20 lots of ddl files etc.) and I had to skip them to continue with the installation. and then the installation did not work and I had to start over still getting the same results. However I did try it by installing it on to disk: D instead of local disk C and it all worked fine everything installed correctly and I have it running Xp now. However with my D disk only being 5GB it is less than ideal so I would like to know what the problem is when trying to install on disk C as it is clearly not the setup disc.
thanks Ace

Check the IDE cable connecting to your C: drive, it may need replacing. OR, your C: drive could have bad sectors.

(I'm assuming you have 2 hard drives)
