Greetings, Is there a way to split a large (over 1 GB) XP OS Install file, into 2 files? I simply want to burn it to 2 cd's, yet do not "see" a program to do such. - Just as an old oem restore type cd's DID/DO. Thanks -EZ

Why can't you just put it on a DVDR?

Why is the file so large? If there are unnecessary items in the ISO you can remove them using nLite.

The XP OS install comes on a CD, so the ISO would fit on a CD. But, there is always the possibility that this is a customized install that includes much more than Windows XP.

So, to answer your question, I see two choices.

1. Mount the ISO and burn half the files to one CD and the other half to another CD.

2. Use any number of file splitter utilities available to split the file in half. You would need the utility to put the two files back together.

Is there a reason why you couldn't use a bootable DVD?
