Hi my sister's computer has this pop up that is in the form of a "Network Connection" boxc, with the dialog "You (or a program) have requested information from {this is where one of 4-5 url's or website addresses turns up - they rotate in turn}. Which connection do you want to use?" and it then shows the dialog window for the existing internet dial up.

They appear regardless of whether she is online or off line. She also gets a msg to say that the computer will shut down in 60 seconds - not always but enough!

We've tried "Adaware" Trend Micro Housecall, Stop the Messenger ... no luck so far.

My apologies if this is a repetition of something you've seen before (I don't have any of these problems due to excellent firewall and AV protection, so have had very little experience with this issue) and many thanks for pointing me in the right direction! Mullet!
