When I try to boot up I get NTLDR IS MISSING Press Ctrl Alt Del to restart
I know that I can fine a million corrections to a missing NTLDR file online, but most of them involve booting from the windows CD, going to repair and copying the file. This is a problem since for some reason when I try to boot from the CD I get the same message. I believe that for some reason it is not reading from the CD, but recently the drive was operating properly.

Are you seeing the prompt, "press any key to boot from CD"? It may be hid behind the Compaq splash screen. If you don't hit a key, the system will bypass the CD & attempt to boot into Windows.

Or you may not have the boot order in the setup screens set to CD BEFORE the hard drive.
