I have seen the following error appear as soon as I switch on my computer 'C0000221 Unknown hard error \systemroot\system32\ntdll.dll'. It does not appear when I reset the computer and boot again. According to Microsoft help it could be due to this file being corrupted and suggests reinstalling it. Unfortunately I bought the computer from a manufacturer that has only supplied a recovery disk thus I am unable to gain access to a fresh copy of this file unless I wipe everything I have installed since I got the machine :( Does anyone know if a way it can be downloaded via microsoft?
I am also having bas stability issues with XP. The computer commonly resets during browser opperations/installation etc. (around 4 times a day) sending the error report to microsoft give the helpful reply that there is a device driver error. The computer is as I purchased it so I cannot figure out what the problem is...Could be anything! There are no device conflicts listed in the system. I do have the latest nortan anti-virus installed but it resets when it is turned off too. Thus I'll post the system details just incase someone else has had similar problems with a part of my system setup. One thing I have noticed that the computer never crashes during a game, only in windows. I have ran windows update and installed most of the patches on offer. The one's I've left seemed irrelevant.
My system setup is:
Athlon 2200
ASUS A7V333 motherboard (BIOS rev 1005)
512k ddr ram
Geforce Ti 4400 (28.32 drivers)
SB Audigy soundcard
Maxtor 6L080J4 hard drive (Never heard HD problems but I've listed it anyway)
Best data fax modem (dunno if its generic name)Hope someone out there can help me out. :)

Where did you purchase this pc? You seem to know a lot about the individual components as well as having a lot of OEM specific components.
If you are looking for that specific file to replace you can probably find it in a google search if you don't have the cd.

Look for replacement or update files here.http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q197298&
