hi all, i have an Emprex dual format 4X DVDRW rom that worked fine several days ago and then Windows stopped recognizing it, citing "bad or corrupted registry info... error 19". i tried to roll back the system but Windows can't do it. i didn't recall that i tempered with the registry but i did install some software. other things i tried: uninstall/reinstall; unplug it completely and then replug in; update firmware. i always got the same error message. so my question is: could this be a hardware failure? if it is, what is it about the "registry"? is there any other ways to test whether it's the problem of Windows or the drive? i'm totally hopeless now since i just used this for less than 3 months! (wait, i may contact the manufacturer for a replacement??) thanks for your attention and help. jiong
