I have been using my computer with about a problem a day ever since i got it. but this problem is just too much. all of the parts in this computer are at least 5 years old, a couple days ago my sound cards speaker jack broke, it was a sound card, Game port combo. It plugged into the ISA slot on my motherboard. i do not use the gameport so when i bought a new sound card i did not bother to by a combination card, the new sound card, which is just a generic sound card, plugs into a PCI slot. when i started my computer and attempted to play some music, an error message came up that told me that no audio device was detected. i do not have the motherboard manual so i cant look in that. does anyone have any idea why my computer will not detect the new sound card.
any help would be appreciated, thanks.

try going to your control panel then sounds and audio devices if that is not your problem you have to go in your system bios and make sure that when your computer is starting up its looking directly in the pci bus for your card because if u have not done this already that should be your problem and make sure thats its in all the way i had that trouble one time
