have a laptop so the printer is not always attached when used. Every time I attach the printer(USB)the "new hardware" wizard appears - all the drivers etc have already been loaded. Is there any way to disable this feature so I can just get on with my stuff????

This feature of USB is impossible disable. perceives that only it happens when your printer is connected but not vice-versa.

I have a similar problem with my PC and an HP 820cxi printer. Each time I boot up the new hardware wizard tries to detect my printer even though it has been loaded already. This pops up at least 3 times before it stops. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
