Hi

please don't laugh.

i have an a-trend 5200 mb, amd k6-2 500
sblive! value
512M ram
netgear fa311
nvidia riva tnt agp

if i install 98/98se/me all works fine wherever i put the soundcard and network card.
but if i install 2k or xp, it seems VERY fussy about where they should be, now i found that i can put the s/card two slots away from the agp slot (TNT). i tried putting the network card in the furthest away pci slot windows 2k/xp loads fine untill i install the drivers then the whole machine locks up cant even reset, so i tried the card in the other slots with the same problem occuring, UNTIL i put it inbetween the agp and 2nd pci slot, now when the bios screen boots up it shows both the graphics card and the network card on irq 11, oh i did disable the acpi irq auto routing option to get this to work, although SO FAR i havn't had much problems i don't have a decreased performance with graphics or a network slowdown, but is it safe to leave it like this, as fara as i know you shouldn't have more than one thing sharing an irq.

if i shouldn't leave it like this then does anyone know how to configure the m/board so i can set the network card on a different irq without xp locking up.

BIG thanks in advance if anyone can help
