When I do an msconfig I have alot and I mean alot of things under the services tag running. I am not sure if I need them all running and my pc seems sluggish. Under start up I have non checked but can someone point me in the right direction, maybe a link or something of what I can stop.

basically you can stop everything on startup if you know what you are doing. Some programs put a startup option in msconfig such as ICQ, MS Office and various virus scanning software. Look at the directory in msconfig and it should give u a clue what program is running on startup. Unchecked any programs that u do not want to startup to free more memory. For example, unchecked ICQ if u do not have a permanent Internet connection or u seldom use it.

are you talking about msconfig but after reading more on here I am interested in
services.msc stuff. I want to be able to kill some of these progs. Someone on here posted a site that he ran once with all the info on what needs to be disabled or auto, manual etc.
Maybe I am not being clear since I dont know what I am doing. I apologize.
