Hi, I have 4 computers all wanting a broadband connection to the internet, but I only have one phone socket, so I bought an ADSL modem router from eTEC. The computers run 1x RH linux, 2x Win98se and 1x XP Home. The first three run fine, but through trial and error, Ive found that when I link up the XP box, the router stops responding. Now, Ive never used Win XP (its a flatmates), and he's computer illiterate, so I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for correctly setting up the XP box if thats the problem, or maybe correctly setting up the router if that may be the problem?
Please if Ive been too vague and you'd need more info to help me, do ask. Thankyou.

Go to your network connections in the control panel, see what connections you have in there. Right click it and choose status then the support tab, What's in there? Even if the XP is screwed up it shouldn't stop the others from connecting unless you have a connection called "internet connection" that is a separate connection in network connections and it is disabled.
