xp lost user profile on startup

Had to do a reset on computer bcause system had frozen up. After startup, Documents and Settings was totally wiped clean - no email or addresses or documents. Local expert said he had never seen Win Xp delete a User Profile by itself. Have looked everywhere and cannot find my old files.

theres probably little anyone here can do if the files have gone. unless you can get your hands on some software to unerase, i think you're out of luck sorry.
