Windows XP logon screen hang and mouse ceased responding when I pressed ctrl-alt-del. I've tried logging with different modes: Safe Mode and etc. Same failure symptoms occurred! Can someone advise me on this matter. It is urgent!

when are you ctrl.alt.del? does that even work if windows doesn't load? what messages are you getting to make you say "failure?"
what were you doing and what was going on before this. you have virus software?

Hi bigtallboy,
Thanks for your reply. Perhaps I should details my problem.
Few weeks ago, I've installed Elsa 3D stereo driver v61.76 for my Elsa Gloria 3 graphic card. HOwever, the driver doesn't work accordingly for some reason. So, I decided to unstall it. During the uninstallation, the Windows hang. So, the intuitive action was to reboot the PC. After the reboot, the Logon screen reveals and I need to press ctrl-alt-del buttons together in order to supply my username and password to log onto my local network. Before any button is pressed, the mouse is responsive. However, as soon as I pressed the ctrl-alt-del buttons or any button on the keyboard, my machine hang and mouse ceased responding. I've tried different booting modes but the problem remains unsolved. I hope my description is not too confusing. Please could you advice me ? Thanks
