Comment:
When I start Windows Xp it loads until the XP loading screen and then the screen flickers a couple times and it just goes to a blank screen. I have to keep restarting it , and sometimes i just give up. I have the correct drivers i think. I have a GeForce 4 Mx420 vidoe card. I have a pentium 4 1.6Ghz processor. I don't know what the prob is. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried starting in Safe or VGA Mode yet? Video drivers could be corrupted.

Boot into safe mode and remove all instances of Display Adapter, reboot Windows and you should be using a standard VGA driver.
From here you can install correct drivers. Verify your card, and post here.

I forgot, if possible, unistall Video Card drivers while in safe mode after removing multiple Display Adapter entries from Device Manager.

I had the same problem, your video card is not supported. However, NVidia GeForce 2 IS supported. I bought a GeForce 2 MX/MX400, and the installation went without a hitch. GeForce 4 is not listed as being supported by XP, check out the MS site and do a search on xp hardware compatibility, you'll see that GEF 4 is not listed. Hope this helps.

I would really like to know why it is not compatable with XP. I mean come on that is a load of crap. I paid all that money for a good video card and it doens't work with XP, what kinda advanced technology is this. that really sucks.

I 'm not buying "it's not supported". I just checked local vendor's site:
Fully compliant support for OpenGL 1.2 for all Windows operating systems and Linux®
All means ALL ..... might be something else besides the Graphics Card .... could be the MOBO does not like it. My old ASUS board hated a Graphics card I purchased and there was nothing I could do , buit it was not Windows fault.
