XP Line-in problem!

All of a sudden my line-in doesnt work on my pc. I have windows xp and live value soundcard. I tried reinstalling the drivers, nothing is set to mute, averything is activated,I can use my microphone through Mic but not line in like before, why?

On the sound settings properties I believe that when you click the microphone to make it active the line in automatically unclickss. It is my understanding that only one input is handled at a time. I may be wrong but it is worth checking out.
