hi, i just installed norton antivirus and norton utilities (both 2002). i am running windows xp professional. i used the windoctor feature in norton doctor, and it found a lot of problems. i repaired them all, and then rebooted my comp. now it told me that windows has found new hardware, and has installed the drivers for it. after another reboot, i checked my computer, only to find a second hard drive (E: drive), which was 2GB in size. i know for sure i don't have one on my laptop, only my regular C: drive, where does this mysterious drive come from? i copied a file onto it, to see if it works properly, and it appears to do so, which is even more strange. please help. thanks.

Hi,
Right click My Computer, Manage, then Disk Management and it will tell you all Hard Drives, CD-Roms, Partitions etc.
Cheers de Peter

as its on a lappie, i would guess that it is the backup for the oem software.you might just format the disk and gain that extra space
