I am trying to reinstall Xp on my a Compaq Presario 5360.
I have used XP on it for a couple of years. The system just got slower and slower so I decided to do a fresh reinstall. I formated the Harddrive C partition and eveything seemed work well. Xp installed the set up files and when it comes to install the rest of the operatng system it says NTLDR can't open drive multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)
Thanks for any Help that anybody can give

I have experienced this before, when re-installing an OS onto a drive that was originally imaged.

Try using a Windows 98 boot disk and run fdisk to remove any formatted partition.
