Hi!
I need to re-install windows on a friends computer. They don't have a restore disk. Can I use my windows disk with their product key? What's the best solution?

You can providing the product key relates to exactly the same version of windows XP as you have. However, as you say that he has no restore disk that would indicate he has or had an OEM version. Unless your disc is from the same manufacturer than it wont work.
The solution is to contact the manufactures of the computer that supplied the original OEM disk and ask them to send you a new restore disk. They should send you one charging only p&P as he already has the expensive bit and that is the licence that comes with the product key.
