Hey Guys, My Laptop cannot install Windows XP. Windows refused to boot reporting missing config/system file, I tried to repair it but could still not work. Trying to re-install it, it gives a error message that no partition is detected. Please help, how do I have my windows back?

What version XP do you have installed?
XP Home or Pro?
XP SP1,2 or 3?

What of the above is on your XP CD?

This could be a few things..

- The CD has scratches and things on it preventing it from copying the files directly. Run the CD under COLD water and dry it off with 100% cotton and then try it again.

- The actual hard drive might not be detected from Windows.. if this is the case then the HD itself might be failing out.

Or, lastly, the last user is correct and the version your trying to install doesn't match your original.
