Hi, hope someone can help me, I'm about to pull my hair out.
I'm running XP Home Edition on a notebook and have just installed a wireless usb antenna.
It install fine, but if I try to to change the wireless properties I always get this message: "At least one of your changes was not applied successfully to the wireless configuration". I've been all over the web seeking for help on this, but the only suggestions always involve opening the Global Policy Object Editor, which XP Home doesn't even have! Somebody help me please!

A lot of problems have been had using SP2 with wireless. IF, and only IF you have a utility that came with your wireless USB adapter, you can attempt to shut of the Microsoft service that controls wireless connections. Do that by going to start, run, typing services.msc, and disabling "wireless zero configuration." From there, use the utility that came with your USB adapter to try and connect.

home doesnt allow you to use the MMC console to its fullest if at all.so local GPO is useless as its disabled in that version.in anycase use the 3rd party software supplied with your adaptor to access your LAN rather than windows.
