I used to be able to drag icons from the desktop to the left hand side of the taskbar to make them easy 1 click icons. This ability has gone away with my rebuild of my notebook. What controls the nature of the taskbar? How can I change it. Thanks, Bradshaw

Sounds like you've closed the Quick Launch bar. You can usually find it in Documents and Settings. It's easiest to do a search within D&S as it can be under Aministrator/Application Data/MS or All Users or your user name. Just activate it, and you will once again be able to drag program executable icons there.

Right click on the taskbar & choose 'toolbars' - it''s the 'quick launch' one you're missing.

johnr's way is much easier. Never realized it was accessible there.
