Specs: Windows XP home, 2 ghz/ .99gb
My total disc capacity is 6.9 GB .And when I did a full destructive reload of my e-machine using the factory disc it shows that the capacity of used space is at 3.41GB and the free space is at 3.48GB. Does this seem correct?

Perfectly correct, a bit on the low side if anything. I wouldn't dream of installing Windows XP on anything less than 10 Gbs, and that is just for the Operating System and essential other files with all data and programmes on a different disk.

Once you start using Windows XP you are very quickly going to run out of disk space.

Thank you Stuart !
May I please ask, is there a solution for adding more capacity ,other than buying a new computer ?

Buy a new harddrive that has more capacity.
