Yeah, I have Windows Hp Home edition and when i am working on the computer, i suddenly get a whole bunch of Application errors(blah, blah has to be terminated) for everything that i am running. Then the computer just hangs there. When i hit alt-ctl-delete then, it gives me an application error for the task manager. The only way out it to manually restart the computer. Does anyone have any suggestions or know the answer to fix this?

Sounds like your system files have been corrupted somewhere along the line, to resolve the situation run SFC /SCANNOW from the Start menu, have your Xp cd handy.
PS. Note the space between C and /
PPS. No settings or data will be lost.

Everything Was fine with the protected Files Check. Its still having the same problem. The Programs i am running, usually, during the errors are photoshop 7.0, Frontpage 2000, winamp, and the internet explorer. The problem always starts with the explorer.exe Application Error, then everything goes, hope that helps. The Error is. Explorer.exe: Application error. All the others are similar. any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Explorer.exe is basically the engine that allows navigation around Windows and your desktop. If that fails, your desktop will dissapear.
I can't believe that scanning the system files did not sort it, very strange indeed.
I'd suggest you have a virus of some sort, if you have AV software, run a scan, if you don't WHY NOT?
You can get a free online scan at:

Already checked for viruses, im clean. I have McAfee 7.0 and i ran a scan before and after connecting to the network, its a new computer. I have found nothing wrong, well other than the problem with the Application errors. Very frustrating not to know whats wrong, i checked for everything i could think of that would cause the problem. Ive done everything short of re-installing the OS.
