Hi, all.
XP Help and Support used to open when I pressed F1. Now I have to click the Desktop first and then press F1.

Sometimes I have to click something to be able to do things.

If you want Help to work at any time, then do-
Windows Key +F1
OR
Windows Logo+F1 (Display Windows Help)

This happens to me all the time. I guess it's because XP is tired from my mever-ending multitasking and it naturally forgot where it is. If you minimize all running apps, F1 would work. Like Chuck I prefer the shortcut Winkey+F1 which also eliminates the need to minimize all running apps.

I disable help and support in the services tab of msconfig. As it is as annoying as that damn paper clip was.

Why didn't you start a new thread if you want help to something completely different to what this one's about? Anyway if it's a dual boot system you can just format the partition with XP PRO on and then remove the dual boot settings from the system.ini file (if i'm wrong please correct as i can't remember right now). That should do it. Do the format in safe mode with no anti-virus, spyware/adware protection running and don't access the partitionm before you format it.
