XP hangs and freezes - randomly

Xp hangs and freezes at random. It will start to operate slowly, then comletely freeze. It leaves me with no other option than to cold-boot. The only error messages in event viewer are 10003(Access denied attempting to launch a DCOM Server using DefaultLaunchPermssion. The server is: {<GUID>} The user is <user name>/<computer name>) and 7000 (The Asusgio service failed to start due to the following error: Unknown path or path not found). I don't have any other info at this time. If someone could kindly help me out with this, I'd appreciate it. Thank you, and thank all for forums like this.
