I have win xp pro and have norton 2003 virus and firewall. I have adaware running and just recently found quite a bit of spyware on my pc which is now deleted however my pc has been running at 100% quite a bit and will lock up if my screen saver stays on to long. The process that is at 100 is the system idle process. If I even try running a system scan with norton my pc is pretty much locked up for a good hour and a half.

Hi , I had the same problem with XP Pro, i ran Adaware & found lots of spyware, but besides removing the spyware there were other important files beloning to other programs removed also that even caused some programs not to work. My computer also locks for long times. Beware when using Adaware. Buddy

So I guess I am not the only one. Have you found a good solution. Have you tried putting back those files and trying to use a different program to get rid of the spyware. If so did that help you at all.

try reloading the OS and c if that works

STOP immediately. Do not reload the OS. Download and run HijackThis; scan with all browsers closed, (When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button) and post the log here in this forum. If no reply to thatposting; post the log in the spywareinfo forum. You will have spyware still in the system; some of which can disable parts of AdAware; which is NOT the problem.
