And like after 1 hour of whenever I do something that is heavy i get this error,
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, Now I always got this error in Windows 2000 also. For some reason I cant find a fix? If anybody else has the same problem OR if they know how to fix it, please email me at letterand@hotmail.com it'll be greatly appreciated.

On my computer, I disabled ACPI support and it solved the problem. The only setback is Windows will say "It's safe to..." instead of turning the computer off by itself. Go to right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager > Open the "Computer" Tree > right click Properties on APCI... > Driver tab > Update Driver > Display a list... > Show all hardware > Change from APCI to Standard PC. Windows should ask to reboot and redetect all your hardware & drivers and everything should work. Pheww...

I get the same 2 problems... but I was able to pinpoint what they are on my PC. I've noticed that when I disable my ISDN card (ELSA Microlink PCI) the PC wont freeze on powerdown or on reboot. I'm instead getting the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error when my ADSL modem (Alcatel SpeedTouch USB) exceeds the bandwidth provided by my ISP. The interesting thing is that the dsl connection reports that my line speed is 800D/160U, but my actual bandwidth is 256D/128U. I've tried changing different versions of my ISDN driver and also changing PCI slots for it, but no difference. For the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error I've noticed that it doesn't have a set time in giving the error only a bandwidth limit (can stay on all day just web browsing and it wont happen). I don't really want to disable ACPI.. but I'll try it. I would really think that my ASUS A7V motherboard would be able to handle the IRQ sharing under XP. I only have 2 PCI cards installed (ISDN and SBLive Value) and my serial and parallel ports are disabled in BIOS so I DO have plenty of IRQs available.
My other USB perphirals don't seem to be related to the problem though.
Any suggestions?

This is my current IRQ mapping under XP:

IRQ 0 System timer OK
IRQ 1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard OK
IRQ 6 Standard floppy disk controller OK
IRQ 8 System CMOS/real time clock OK
IRQ 9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System OK
IRQ 9 NVIDIA GeForce DDR OK
IRQ 9 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 9 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 9 Creative SB Live! Value (WDM) OK
IRQ 9 ELSA MicroLink ISDN PCI #2 OK
IRQ 9 Win2000 Promise Ultra100 (tm) IDE Controller OK
IRQ 12 Logitech-compatible Mouse PS/2 OK
IRQ 13 Numeric data processor OK
IRQ 14 Primary IDE Channel OK
IRQ 15 Secondary IDE Channel OK

I have been experiencing this blue screen that says the same: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. My cpu seems to be running at top performance. but occassionally i might get it.. i actually didnt get this error until i installed blackice(firewall) I am not sure if this is the problem or not. I am still trying to pinpoint something that could be wrong. until then i guess im going to see how it runs without blackice running. let me know if anyone has anything else..
thanks

In my case the IRQ_LESS_OR_EQUAL started when I removed my swap file. After activating it again the error disappeared, now instead the system reboots when I shutodown. Hmmm.... I installed quite some software in between so it's difficult to pinpoint the problem to a specific soft.
Tried also to disable APM but no progress there. The strange thing is normally you get this error when you install a bad driver... SB Live! too in my system. And Windows XP Update already offers a new driver for this card... will try it out give feedback if something at that level is the cause.

In my case, started after I moved the swap file from the system drive to another drive (logic); and went away after I moved it back.

I was reading because I have the BSOD because of an IQR NOT LESS OR EQUAL. I´ve been reading a lot of users posts and we all have a Sound Blaster or have installed Black Ice Defender, or trouble with the net card.
Maybe we must change IRQ. If I find a solution I will post it.

I've been getting this BSOD only when playing divx movies. I guess this could be due to the high processor usage involved in decoding but if anyone has discovered a fix, i'd love to have it too
