I accidently loaded McAffee before deleting my other virus protection. Now, it boots up to a certain point then freezes. I can't get anywhere. Is there a way to boot from a floppy then change the start up files so both Programs don't load? Where would I find such a floppy or the files to make one.
Thanks for any help in advance or points to links would be appreciated.

what u can do is try to boot up into safe mode...right when u start up tap F8 till u get some advanced options. choose plain old safe mode and then let it boot. hopefully that works...what else you can try is to go to www.microsoft.com and then at the top right hand screen you'll see where u can choose support and then finally knowledgebase there you can search the article #310994 which is creating boot disks to get the system up and running. beware thou because this process will reinstall the windows components so stuff can be deleted...such as your profile and stuff in my documents.

hopefully this helps...holla!

hey ROBERTUCHO,

while you are running in SAFE MODE, you'll want to uninstall McAfee and you "other" virus protection software.

reboot (in normal mode, don't hit F8 this time). If your machine boots normally, reload the virus protection of your choice.
