Installed an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video card on Dell Inspiron 8200, 2GHZ. Removed nVidia drivers before installation of new card.
Computer boots to windows sign-on but freezes on user page - no icons, toolbar, etc. New video card appears to be working fine, as loaded test program from ATI CD that came with the card and picture great.
Have access to task manager. Can do file run and access internet, programs, etc. and work fine.
What happened to toolbars, start button, icons, etc on user screens?
Larry

download the latest drivers from here and install them. as you did with the nvidia ones, remove the original drivers first.
Simon

Since I don't have direct access to windows -- add/remove programs - cna I access through task manager? Where are they located?
Larry
