I have a problem of XP freezing on the windows logo/loading bar. The bar will go twice, then freeze about 1/10th the way through. It can boot in safe mode. Before this i couldnt even get it to complete the install, but i fixed that. Anyway, back to the new problem, yea it freezes there and i have no idea what to do, ive tried a bajillion things and now im just frustrated.Tried:
1 Fresh Format
2 f5 NOT f6 for i486 or something like that.
installed completely finally.
3 changed hd's
4 flashed bios
5 went through the bios and turned off legacy and such, since xp doesnt use it anyway
6 shut it off, cursed at it, and walked away

The only thing you haven't mentioned is cleaning and reseating the cpu, testing memory, testing power supply.
You can lead a horse to water but,you can't make it google!!!

youre right i did forget to mention the following:
cleared cmos
bios:failsafe and optimal settings.
did clean and reseat the cpu( twice)
swapped out his memory for my giel
didnt test the psu, how do i do that?

How
to Perform a Clean Boot in Windows XP

issues when you cannot determine the cause of
the issue, disable common startup programs,
settings, and drivers to eliminate possible
software conflicts when you start Microsoft
Windows XP. This procedure is known as
"clean booting."

To find out what each Startup(or Process) item
does or means, and any recommendation as to if you should close the process:

If the above Clean Boot still does not work, then it may be your video drivers, because Safe-Mode uses VGA and that will work there.
