XP Firewall - cannot access Interne

When I turn on the XP Firewall I cannot access the internet. Zone alarm does not interfere. Any ideas why the XP firewall is not allowing me to access the internet? Turn off XP and I can get on the net.

If you're already running Zone Alarm, you don't need XP's firewall, or any other secondary software firewall. They can interfere with each other.
If you want extra protection, invest in a good router (hardware firewall).

In the current test version of XP SP2 a pop up warns tou not to run two firewalls at the same tme. I turned off Zone Alarm and things seem to be working OK. Time will tell if the XP firewall offers as much protection.

The reason why you should not run two firewalls is that they can stop working altogether due to conflicts.
