I purchased an Epson perfection 3490 Photo scanner and have been unable to install the Scan software. When I inserted the CD, the installation proceeded until I got a message that said: <<Could not copy files. Check the setup disc, then run setup again. >> Then the message: <<An error occurred during setup, restart your computer, then run setup again.>> I restarted and tried several times, but still got the same message. Then I went to the Epson support website and downloaded a new version of the driver for XP When I tried to install that – I got the very same error message. I emailed to the Epson support site and they suggested various solutions, such as removing all installed parts and starting over (which I did) and running msconfig and getting rid of all startup processes except Microsoft and trying the install. I did that also and still got the same message. Any help will be very much appreciated.
