XP Driver Space Error

MY O/S is Windows XP. Everytime I print I get in my upper left corner, "Running out of disk space" which of course isn't true. I uninstalled my printer, put it back with Brother's so called new driver, same thing happens. I think what's happening that XP is not compatible with my printer. I did have the printer first, never any trouble and even now, no trouble printing, just that annoying thing. Printer: Brother 1440HL Mono Laser Driver is latest version updated on brother site 8/16/04. The printer is connected parallel. I did try to connect it through usb and re-installing the printer but I received the same result. I have SP1 installed NO SP2! Could use some advise. Thanks.
