XP does not install at all ...

The files are copied properly but after restart when it checks the hard disk, there is a strange error message and computer stops responding... I know that there is no hard disk problem. Can't i just skip this...

I just had the same problem with XP Pro and it WAS a hard disk fail. The message says that there is an error reading the partition and that you have invalid drive parameters.
