XP Disconnects too much

I had the same problem and updated the modem driver, which fixed it.

Not necessisarily, it's better to get the driver from the manufacturer's site and follow their instructions for installing the driver.

Hi Neongirl Ok go into Start/Settings/Control Panel/Internet Options/Connections/Settings/Advanced. Make sure the boxes for "Disconnect if idle for x minutes" and "Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed" are NOT ticked. Try that. Wolfey

thanks there was a update for my modem and i made sure that i did not have the disconnect in x number of minutes thing checked
