XP Crashes and keeps re-booting

Microsoft Windows xp professional editio...

Specs: Windows XP Pro SP3
5 variables.

1. Uploaded latest Windows updates today.
2. Plugged in my 16GB flash drive. (Lexar)
3. Was listening to music on Windows Media.
4. ?????
5. Started a Torent download. (can anyone say Oh-oh?)

Then Boom! (no actual sound but...) XP doesn't even give me the time of
day or reason for it's moodiness and dies like a bullet to the head.

Never has that happen to me in XP. 98, yes. XP, first time.

Thing is, I can't even logon in safe mode.
And the usual error code is flashed on screen so bloody fast, I could only capture it on video/print screen on my laptop .

And it just keeps re-starting, over and over and over . . .

Hope you have the answer All Mighty Gurus and Elders.
I need a true Wizard to show me how to fix this box from the outside in!

Hold the F8 key when booting. When the menu comes up try the "Last Know Good Configuration". If this does not work then you have to boot from the Windows CD and do a Windows Repair. Good Luck.

Tried the 'Last known config'
will try booting from CD + Win Repair then.

thank you.

I wonder what's causing it?
Conflicting code?

nothing is working.
Safe Mode, Restore, Last Known Config.

Truely amazing.

I ended up installing XP on the second hard drive to retrieve my files (via NTFS Undelete -freeware).

Got the files.
Now what?
Any suggestions?
I'm ready to just go out and make my own machine from scratch. . .
