Xp crash

Installed new mouse then days later system crashed. Tried recovery console...no good. I only have the 2 recovery cd's...i'm trying to recover where it was fine... don't want to lose important data. try to locate drive c:. need help...where can i find a hdd utility(seagate) or xp tools so i can work in command. to be able to copy or delete in drive c:

Not clear of ur present situation or what u want to do....
1) Does the machine boot up ?? 2) Can u boot in safe mode ?? 3) Have u tried System Restore ?? 4) Do u have another HD to copy files to ?? 5) Have u tried a 'Repair' re-install of XP ??

did you try a system restore in system tools?? go back a few days before you installled the mouse.
