Dear Buddies,
there must be thousands of queries on the net about svchost.exe causing the computer to ....
1 go slow
or
2 block internet access
or
3 Crash

I installed the new Zone alarm version 7 and started getting messages that I had this program and that it wants to contact the internet.

Here is a program on my computer wanting to tell someone about my computer without my permision.

Most of the answers as to what to do about the problem are simply do nothing.

I'll be more drastic.

maybe I had this installed and it was doing it's thing ever since I installed XP

As there is no answer as to what it is supposed to be doing, from net experts or from Zalarm then logically no one is sure .

Is it some MS brainchild to protect me from bad things?
I don't think so because windows is to say the least the gateway for almost 100% of the things that get into your computer...

How do I remove svchost.exe?

I don't want it but do I need it?

How do I I get rid of it?

Cheers
Fred
