HELP! I have Windows XP/Home Edition and when I download a graphic, I only get .art or .gif. I want to download a .jpg - or convert into a .jpg so I can read. Any software?

the file type of .art or .gif is predifined by the person that made it. it has been encoded that way to serve the best needs.

if you want to save the pictures in the .jpg format, you will need a fairly basic graphics program. just open the file, then goto:

file --> save as...

and select .jpg as the file format.

sorry, forgot to address one of your questions.

xp has a picture previewer, and 'microsoft paint' built in. you can open .gif images in them. not sure abou .art files.
