I have a Medion 1Ghz system and recently purchased a 1.6Ghz system. The new system came with XP preloaded and working while I upgraded the older system and it has problem, especially when it comes to closing down. Is there a way to get the old system working the same way as my new one?

My modem connects at a real slow rate and my system won't shut down properly. I have to pull the power plug. My new system flies along nicely without any of these hitches.
