I right click C:\ goto Properties > Tools Tab > Check 4 errors button > tick both options and proceed. However when the PC reboots Check Disk does not run. Could someone please help with this problem, is there a command I can enter to run this?

Upon re-boot, do you get the blue screen, that has the countdown....."checkdisk will start in 10 seconds......." ? Or does it just hang at that point?

On boot it just boots as normal, well it's not normal it hangs for about 3 mins before checking the RAM and again after the XP loading screen, it does not do the Check disk function.
Had the same problem after installing Zone Alarm v 5.0.590.95. The new installation changed some program access settings including those for their "Spooler Subsystem"...Deleted the new version, installed a previous one, and checked settings that would prevent Spooler from calling home. The "exclusive access" issue disappeared. Bon Chance.
